I was watching "Kang Shim Jang" (강심장) and it made me really sad. Brian from Fly To the Sky was on the show and was talking about the difficulty he had because of Hwany. They were really good friends until people around them kept talking bad about them. For example, Hwany's friend would say to Brian, "So I heard from Hwany that you guys have been fighting a lot" or Brian's friend would say to Hwany, "You know I heard from Brian that... yadda yadda." Then it got to the point where they believed these rumors and gossip that people kept telling them. Then in the end on one show they were talking about the old days and finally said that they wouldn't listen to others and only trust eachother. Although it's a tad corny, I thought it was really sweet and touching. They've been together throughout their music career for 12 years. This "fight" was serious, for their last album together they didn't even record together. Instead they recorded separately and didn't speak or see eachother until the last gathering. I'm just happy that they're not angry at eachother anymore. Plus they're technically not over because they're planning to go solo! YAHOO! Here's the clip that I was watching, sorry there aren't any subtitles.

so you think you can SING?
it has been forever since i've posted a blog, on this one that is. i actually have another blog separate from this one that i have been updating for school purposes. for a ridiculous class called senior inquiry. although i do love my teacher, i just don't love her enough to make two blog posts a week in a certain format.
anyway, going back to the title of this post.
jyp and smtown global audition dates have been finalized.
both of them are happening in new york! jyp is happening in manhattan and smtown in queens (@ koreavillage). i went to the jyp audition last year and didn't get past the first round. yes, i know pathetic. however i didn't regret going and i'll most likely go to this one as well. it's on november 21st which is on a saturday. and the smtown one is from the 27th to the 28th. i'm guessing a lot of people are going. i believe there were around 600-700 people that auditioned for jyp. fun, well at least that's something to look forward to?

let's pretend we're in antarctica by of montreal
alright. so, it's been awhile. as mentioned by caroline, i am no longer a new yorker. i am now a... jakarta-ER? well, you get the picture. in case you've never been to jakarta. it's HOT. like HOT hot. well, maybe not sahara desert hot. but pretty hot. at 12 to 4 pm, the heat crawls under your skin and creeps into your brain, then slowly shuts it down completely. that's why on holidays like this (yesyes, i have a 2-week holiday now) i prefer staying home, shut my curtains, turn on the A/C on full-power mode, and watch some asian stuff or read manga until my eyes are blinded by the light waves from my laptop screen. i like to exaggerate, have you noticed?
anywho, i'd just like to list some odd stuff 'cause i'm not too sure what to talk about.
1. Anywho is not a word. um yeah, i just noticed that like 60 seconds ago. well, it's only an assumption because when i wrote "anywho" on the beginning of this paragraph, it has the red underline which indicates that the word is misspelled, or if the word, well, doesn't exists. i'm too lazy to google it up. you google it.
2. Did you know, that in 2005 the temperature in Lut Desert, Iran reached 70.7 degrees Celsius? For those living in places that use Fahrenheit (a.k.a. the US), it's 159.26 degrees F. OMG. in new york, i'll be screaming my lungs out when it gets high 90s/low 100s. add another 50 degrees, ill probably be chugging kilos of ice cubes.
Have you ever wondered why the US uses Fahrenheit? well, they're different alright.
okay. i just re-googled that highest temperature fact: total bullshit. According to http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/globalextremes.html the highest temperature ever recorded is 57.8 degrees Celsius (136 degrees F) on September 13th, 1922 (!) in Libya.
as for the lowest temperature, don't be surprised: is -89.2 degrees Celsius (-128.6 degrees F) in Antarctica. oh my. my last winter in new york was already hell-like.
Antarctica is said to have only about 6 months of sunlight. and the rest there is none. during the summer, there could even be a 24-hour sunlight for several months. have you ever wished that the day would never be over? well, you found just the right place. or maybe that the night would never end? well, there you go again. during the winter, there would be no sunlight at all for several months. welcome to the dark side.
that's hard to imagine. there would probably be no use in having a watch. 12 am is the same as 12 pm. 5 am is the same as 5 pm. imagine going to school in the winter, you'd be going to school in the dark (yes, this is only an imagination. i dont think anyone can live with the weather down there).
i remember watching... BALTO (i had amnesia for a second). a (true) story about a sled dog who helped transport medicines for a disease break-out in a small city in Alaska. in the animation movie, they had scenes portraying auroras. and i've wished to see one since, well preferably before i die.
a snippet about aurora:
Auroras, sometimes called the northern and southern (polar) lights or aurorae (singular: aurora), are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar regions. They typically occur in the ionosphere. They are also referred to as polar auroras. In northern latitudes, the effect is known as the aurora borealis, named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas by Pierre Gassendi in 1621.[1] The aurora borealis is also called the northern polar lights, as it is only visible in the sky from the Northern Hemisphere, the chance of visibility increasing with proximity to the North Magnetic Pole, which is currently in the arctic islands of northern Canada. Auroras seen near the magnetic pole may be high overhead, but from further away, they illuminate the northern horizon as a greenish glow or sometimes a faint red, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis most often occurs near the equinoxes; from September to October and from March to April.
just to increase our knowledge on auroras:
The phenomenon of aurora is an interaction between the Earth's magnetic field and solar wind
(info taken from wikipedia.com)

pretty, eh?
beauty of nature.
love,

FRIENDS
This blog has died. Nia and I are planning on reviving it soon. This is an update on just recent news. Nia is actually leaving on a plane tomorrow to Jakarta, Indonesia. Her flight is in the moring. I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH! We're hoping to continue this blog as a way to keep in touch and to just finish what we started. This isn't the end, it is just the beginning of the NIA&&CAROLINE adventures.
To Nia:
You're an amazing friend. Like you said this is not the end. We will definitely see eachother again soon. We must keep in touch and hopefully we can go to Korea together once high school is over. Thank you for everything, literally EVERYTHING.

ROMeo
If you didn't know already. SHINee is BACK with their new mini-album called Romeo. The MV for their single called Juliette already released in May. Their first comeback on Music Bank was yesterday (090605), they won #1 for their song Juliette!!! Congratulations!
I personally love their new hairstyles and this song is now eternally replaying on my iTunes. One of the things I love about their single Juliette is that it some what reminds me of their other song called Love like Oxyen. As usual I love their vibrant colors and I finally get to hear TaeMin's vocals in Juliette! They all seem to get more indiviual parts in this album. I'm not sure if this is true but I heard JongHyun actually wrote this particular song himself! Plus the choreography is amazing! I just wished that for the performance on Music Bank, TaeMin, JongHyun, & Key didn't have the tassle hem on their wardrobe. It's quite distracting and doesn't really add to their image. Oh, and is it just me or did TaeMin grow...ALOT?
Watch their performance on Music Bank here!

the hills - lauren conrad = the hills + kristin cavallari
the hills with kristin cavallari. uh.. no.
so today i just caught up with the MTV show The Hills (season 5), and i love it. well, i've always liked the show but just never have time to keep up with it when it airs. so after catching up with the most recent episode (season finale) i found out that lauren conrad was LEAVING THE SHOW. and, kristin cavallari is joining the show. i was shocked. well, heidi hinted on the "unexpected guest" by asking her sister whether she's sent her wedding invitation to the "person we talked about." fishy, eh? well, then kristin showed up at the wedding. and of course she had to match with lauren. but yeah. not cool.
cavallari is not compatible with lauren. and i just can't believe lauren is leaving. she's been with us since laguna beach to the hills (5 seasons). that's a very long time. *sigh*
nonetheless, i loved the hills' season 6 trailer; it said "the bitch is back" and showed clips with kristin screaming "you're messing with the wrong person dude." lovely. well, i guess the hills will have a new girl in town (not a new lauren).
you guys can watch full episodes of the hills at:
